The Urhobo and Isoko Elites in Lagos are set to honour Engr. Samuel Egube, Deputy Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, with an ‘Outstanding Leader’ award.
According to a statement signed by Dr. Benson Uwheru and Mrs. Blessing Dan-Egua on behalf of the group, the celebration will hold on Saturday, July 18, at the Shell Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
The body described Egube as “an Outstanding Leader and son of our land” and “A pride of Urhobo, Isoko and the South-South in Lagos.”
They said the event aims to celebrate excellence, honour leadership, and build a legacy.
Engr. Samuel Egube is an economist and investment professional by training, with private sector experience and public service to the heart of governance in Africa’s largest megacity.
Before his current role, he served as the Honourable Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget in Governor Sanwo-Olu’s first term. In that capacity, he led the design and coordination of Lagos State’s annual budgets and long-term economic plans. He was instrumental in driving data-driven governance, fiscal transparency, and strategic policy conversations through platforms like the Ehingbeti Economic Summit.
With experience in top financial institutions including GTBank and AIICO Capital, Egube built a reputation for analytical depth and a commitment to structured growth. His approach to public service is rooted in using data and planning to deliver real impact — in jobs, infrastructure, education, and healthcare.
As Deputy Chief of Staff, he now supports the Governor on strategy, policy coordination, and the execution of key government initiatives across ministries and agencies.
Egube is also recognized as a proud son of the Urhobo and Isoko nations.
