- Ayodele with some beneficiaries of his philanthropy in The Gambia
A fundraiser to build a mosque in the memory of Kevin AbdulLatif Ayodele, Latz, one of Anthony Joshua’s two friends that died in Monday’s auto accident has already gathered £116,441 since his death.
The fundraising page highlighted his “deep commitment” to charity, Islam, and uplifting communities in The Gambia.
Ayodele and Sina Ghami, who were killed in the crash that left Anthony Joshua injured have been described as two of his “closest friends”.
Both were long-term friends of the two-time unified world heavyweight champion, as well as having roles on his team, with Ghami acting as Joshua’s strength and conditioning coach while Ayodele was a trainer.
Hours before the crash, Joshua had shared a video of himself playing table tennis with Ayodele.
On Instagram, the personal trainer posted as Health Mindset and shared health and motivation information. He is also known as a philanthropist. “Latz” Ayodele had meaningful ties to The Gambia where he is being mourned.
Beyond his public life as a fitness coach, Latz was involved in philanthropic initiatives in The Gambia, supporting children’s Quranic learning, helping orphans, and contributing to community development. His charitable work was largely done out of the public eye.
“Gambia has lost a friend, mentor, and humanitarian,” said a Gambian official.

The SPOT Project in The Gambia is a charity that has worked to transform the lives of vulnerable children and communities by building schools and learning centres, providing free education and skills training, distributing food and essential support, and improving access to clean water and opportunities for youth.
Through these efforts, SPOT has helped many underprivileged Gambian children access education and a path toward a brighter future. His dedication to empowering young Gambians will always be remembered.
Ayodele was a personal trainer, fitness model, and former footballer who played for Northwood FC alongside other teams during his career.
During his footballing career, he was known as Kevin Ayodele, before going by Abdul Latif after conversion to Islam.
