A major scare at the newly inaugurated Dangote Refinery was swiftly contained Wednesday after fire broke out at one of its plants.
A statement from the organisation said the effluent plant caught fire and was swiftly contained without leadiing to any casualties.
Earlier ttoday, a video of the fire outbreak, complete with thick smoke billowing out of the plant, had gone viral.
The Press Release from the Dangote Group reads:
“Dangote Refinery contains minor fire at its effluent treatment plant
“We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP), today Wednesday, 26th June.
There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to all our staff on duty.”
