The leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have called off the nationwide strike they embarked upon yesterday, Monday.
TUC president, Festus Osifo announced the suspension on Tuesday in Abuja after a joint extraordinary national executive council meeting of the two unions.
Osifo added that a communique will be issued later.
“We Are ‘Relaxing the Action For One Week And Not Suspending The Strike, To Give Federal Government The One Week Grace And Test Their Sincerity, ” said Francis Akinjorin, the Deputy National Secretary of ATTSAN.
The unions downed tools on Monday over the hike in electricity tariff and lack of consensus on a new minimum wage.
