Philanthropist and international business mogul, Dr. Oludare Akande, has promised to construct a standard Moot Court for the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, to be used in the training of students in the institution’s Faculty of Law that is awaiting NUC final approval to commence academic activities.
Moot Court is a co-curricular activity that is usually based in the Faculty of law where participants take part in simulated court or arbitration proceedings, usually involving drafting memorials or memoranda and participating in oral argument.
Akande, who visited the leadership of the University at the weekend, said he has decided to build a Moot Court for LAUTECH, even as the institution warms up to start the training of Lawyers.
Registrar of the University, Dr. Kayode Ogunleye, while giving a vote of thanks on behalf of the University, thanked Dr. Akande, promising that his gesture will never be regretted.
The Ag Vice Chancellor, Prof Rom Kalilu, had earlier, while welcoming the philanthropist praised his intervention in the university which included providing cash gift of one million naira to the best graduate of the university. He equally offered jobs to some other graduates who did well in their studies during the 16th convocation ceremonies.
