The Elerin of Erin Osun, Oba Adekunle Yusuf Omoloye Oyagbodun the Second, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke on his re-election.
The Elerin, who spoke with newsmen in his palace at Erin Osun at the weekend, said the governor’s achievements and connection with the people contributed significantly to his electoral success.
Describing the victory as a clear reflection of the people’s confidence in Adeleke’s leadership, the Elerin used the occasion to call on politicians across the country to take a cue from what he said are Adeleke’s people oriented actions. He also advised the to always prioritise the welfare of the people by providing essential amenities and delivering meaningful dividends of democracy.
The monarch said Adeleke’s integrity and organic acceptance by the people earned him the renewed mandate.
He therefore called on the people of Osun State, irrespective of political affiliation, to cooperate with the governor, adding that their collective support is essential for consolidating his achievements and taking the state to greater heights.
Also speaking, the National President of Erin Osun Progressive Union, Chief Kayode Olawale, described the governorship election as a credible exercise that would further boost the people’s confidence in INEC.
Chief Olawale congratulated Adeleke on his re-election and assured him of the support of the people of Erin Osun towards achieving his developmental agenda.
The EPU leader expressed optimism that the governor’s second term would provide an opportunity to address the boundary issue affecting communities in the state and bring a lasting solution to it.
The EPU leader also called on indigenes and residents of Osun State to support Governor Adeleke a, his cabinet members nd cooperate with his administration to enable the people to enjoy more democratic dividends and prayed for a successful second term for the governor and greater development across the state.
