The Chairman of the Ibadan Branch of the Young Lawyers’ Forum, ‘Tomiwa Fadeyi, has called on Judges, Seniors, Stakeholders and the general public to ensure improved welfare, better remuneration, and respect for Young Lawyers in Ibadan.
Fadeyi made this call on the 5th of October, 2026, while delivering his remarks at the 2026 Independent Legal Year Service organized by the Nigerian Bar Association (Ibadan Branch) at the Branch’s Secretariat in Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo State of Nigeria.
He emphasized that the relationship between the Bench and the Bar, as well as between Seniors in the profession and Young Lawyers must be symbiotic, without any arm considering itself more important than the other. He further mentioned that the advocacy for Young Lawyers to embrace pupilage will only be credible after the issues of improved welfare, better remuneration, and respect are properly addressed.
While concluding, Fadeyi encouraged young Lawyers to be confident and stand firm on the path of truth and justice without giving room for intimidation of any kind, citing that the Forum will protect its members from any kind of degrading treatment.
