In a show of support for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Chief Eric Fiki, the Baale of Amuro, on Thursday empowered 200 women with ₦50,000 each across the 10 wards of Mopamuro Local Government Area.
The empowerment programme, held in APC Party Secretariat Mopa, was aimed at cushioning economic hardship and strengthening grassroots support for the APC ahead of the coming general elections.
Addressing beneficiaries, Chief Eric Fiki said the gesture was his contribution to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Ododo’s people-oriented policies.
He promised to continue the empowerment programme and extend it to youths and men in subsequent phases.
“This is just the beginning. We will keep empowering our women, youths and men so that no one is left behind. Supporting leaders who are working for the people is the best way to ensure more dividends of democracy,” the Baale stated.
Dignitaries present at the event included: Ademola Bello, Executive Chairman, Mopamuro LGA, represented by Temitope Ajayi Santos;Mr Sunday Moses David, Former LG Chairman & SA to the Governor on Cultural Integration; Joy C. Solomon, Vice Chairperson, Mopamuro LGA and Comrade Adeyemo Olajide Stephen, Mopamuro APC Chairman, amidst other notable party leaders, stakeholders, and community heads.
Speaking on behalf of the Chairman, Temitope Ajayi Santos commended Chief Eric Fiki for complementing government efforts in poverty alleviation. He urged beneficiaries to use the funds judiciously and to mobilize massively for the reelection of President Tinubu, Governor Ododo, and other APC candidates.
The Mopamuro APC Chairman, Comrade Adeyemo Olajide Stephen; Mr Moses David, Mrs Mercy Obajemu and Joy C. Solomon also lauded the initiative, describing it as timely and a reflection of the party’s commitment to the welfare of the people.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Chief Eric Fiki and pledged to support the APC in the forthcoming elections.
