The Triple Pillar Consulting Limited, Indonesian Trade Promotion Centre
Lagos (ITPC) and Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and
Agriculture,(KWACCIMA) have hosted an Indonesia Business Forum in Ilorin with a view to enhance bilateral trade relations and
investment partnerships between Nigeria and Indonesia.
The Business Forum, which attracted government officials, business owners, manufacturers, captains of industry, public and private sector players from Kwara and Niger States in the North Central geo-political zone, as well as Ogbomosho Chamber of Commerce in Oyo State, was
held at Ilorin Innovation Hub, Ilorin on Wednesday, 15 July 2026.
Delivering his welcome address, the Chairman of Triple Pillar Consulting
Limited, Ambassador Isiaka Abdulqadir Imam, described the forum as a landmark initiative, being the irst of its kind in the state, aimed at deepening economic cooperation between both countries.
Ambassador Imam commended Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, for his administration’s giant strides in
infrastructure and economic development, noting that such progress creates a conducive environment, for investment.
Ambassador Imam emphasized that improved trade relations and increased focus on production and export are essential for Nigeria to achieve its ambition of building a one-trillion-dollar economy.
“The forum is designed to strengthen bilateral trade relations between Nigeria, Africa’s most vibrant economy,and Indonesia, the largest
economy in Southeast Asia,” he said.
He added that the platform would also expose business owners across the North Central region to investment opportunities in Indonesia, inciuding paiticipation in the 41 Trade Expo Indonesia, scheduled for
14-18 October 2026, in Jakarta.
Also speaking, the Deputy Director of the Indonesian Trade Promotion
Centre, Lagos, Mr. ArifIndrakusnadi, highlighted the growing economic ties between Nigeria and Indonesia, describing both nations as partners with complementary strengths.
According to him, bilateral trade between the two countries reached $2.4b in 2024 and $3.24b in 2025, reflecting resilience and significant growth potential. He encouraged Nigerian businesses to participate in the upcoming 415 Trade Expo Indonesia, noting that the event offers opportunities for market access, technology transfer, business matchmaking and capacity development.
“The Expo provides a platform for exporters, investors and government partners, to build lasting partnerships and explore new markets,” he said, assuring participants of ITPC’s support in facilitating business
engagements.
The President of KWACCIMA, Engr. Abu Salami, FNSE said the forum must go beyond discussions, to delivering tangible investments and partnerships. He identified Kwara State’s key investment strengths to include vast arable land for agro-industrial activities, abundant solid mineral resources, a peaceful business environment, and a strategic location with access to major Nigerian markets.
Eng. Salami unveiled structured collaboration proposals in agro- processing,mineral beneficiation and the establishment of a Kwara-. Indonesia Investment and Trade Hub, aimed at accelerating industrial growth and job creation.
He assured potential investors of KWACCIMA’s commitment to ease of
doing business,through policy support, market access guarantees and investment facilitation.
Mr. Nasiru Imam, Personal Assistant to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who represented the Govermor at the event, reafrmed the administration’s commitment to attracting investors and strengthening partnerships,with international organisations.
He noted that ongoing policies and programmes have significantly improved youth development and economic growth in the state, expressing optimism that the forum would further boost Kwara’s socio-
economic landscape.
Mr. Imam commended the organisers for choosing Kwara as the host, while urging both local and international investors to take advantage of the state’s investment-friendly environment.
Similarly, the Wife of the Governor of Kwara State, Professor Olufolake AbdulRazaq, represented by Commissioner for Social Development, Mariam Nnafatima Imam (PhD), said Kwara State has gained increased global recognition,adding that the socio-economic fortunes of the state have improved, under the current administration.
The forum featured presentations from the Indonesian Trade Promotion Centre, Lagos and the Kwara State Ministry of Business Innovation and Technology, alongside goodwill messages from chambers of commerce from Niger State and Ogbomoso, in Oyo State.
Participants were also encouraged to leverage the networking opportunities provided by the forum to establish business connections and explore paitnerships.
The event is expected to pave the way for stronger economic cooperation, increased trade volumes and sustainable development
between Nigeria and Indonesia.
The Indonesian Business Forum, Ilorin 2026, concluded with participants highlighting its importance in strengthening trade and investment ties between Nigeria and Indonesia.
Delivering the vote of thanks, the General Manager of Triple Pillar Consulting Limited, Mr. Abdulrazaq Amuda, described the forum asinsightful and impactful, providing a platform for meaningful economic
collaboration.
Mr. Amuda commended the organisers for a successful event and appreciated the presence of key dignitaries, including Kwara State Governor Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and KWACCIMA President Engr. Abu Salami, alongside other regional chamber leaders.
He also acknowledged speakers such as Mr. ArifIndrakusnadi and the representative of Kwara State Commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology, Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, for their valuable presentations on business opportunities.
Mr. Amuda praised exhibitors from Indonesia and Kwara State, including Mr.Tri Sasotyo Adi of PT.CAHAYA SUBUR PRIMA Company, who
participated virtually, while thanking attendees for their active engagement.
Mr. Amuda concluded by calling on Indonesian Trade Promotion Centre, Lagos, to consider organizing an Indonesian trade /technical mission to Kwara State next year.
