Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have carried out a major intelligence-led operation in Surulere, Lagos, intercepting an unregistered MAN diesel truck loaded with 47 sacks of military camouflage uniforms and 80 cartons of suspected illicit substances.
Three suspects — Chinedu David (29), Ezeagwu Chukwuma (38), and Ifeanyi Ogbeanyi (45) — were arrested on the spot by officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit during the operation, which authorities say was based on credible intelligence.
Police say the consignment was allegedly being moved out of Lagos towards the South-East before it was intercepted. Two additional suspects were later arrested after reportedly attempting to claim the seized items at a police station in Surulere.
The Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, confirmed that investigations are ongoing to uncover the origin of the items, the network behind the shipment, and the intended recipients.
