The renewed charge of the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, to all State Commandants to deploy technology – driven intelligence in combating criminalities has begun to yield immediate positive results, particularly in Lagos State Command.
The State Commandant of NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Mr Adedotun Keshinro today, disclosed in Badagry that the Command’s operatives in the axis, following a surveillance which lasted for three weeks, successfully smashed a baby factory in an overnight operation between Wednesday, 15th and Thursday, 16th April at Zone 1 Area of Olorunda, Badagry.
Keshinro disclosed that the overnight operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects linked to the operation of the baby factory, with their victims supposedly deceived through a Facebook account dedicated towards the recruitment of pregnant ladies willing to sell off their babies to interested buyers at post – delivery rates of between N500,000 and N1,000,000.

The operatives also rescued 28 victims, including 17 heavily pregnant women, one male adult and 10 children including infants.
Preliminary investigation also revealed that one of the victims lost her pregnancy as a result of the unhealthy environmental condition she was subjected to, just like others.
Exhibits recovered at the crime scene also include, one pumping machine , one generator set, six standing fans, two gas cylinders ( 12kg and 6kg respectively ), one burner, two large cooking pots, five android phones, four large mats and assorted food items.
Keshinro condemned the dastardly, inhumane and barbaric act often perpetrated by some desperate members of the society in the guise of chasing money through any crooked means.
The suspects and victims have been immediately taken to the office of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons ( NAPTIP ) for a proper hand over and further investigation, as the NSCDC boss assured the public that the culprits will brought to justice.
