The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has called on members of the Nigerian Youth Organisation (NYO), Ogun State Chapter, to work with his administration for the progress of the state. having identified with the members at the grandfinale of the 50th anniversary of creation of the state.
Members of the organization joined the Governor at the grandfinale of the 50th anniversary of creation of the state at the world class Moshood Abiola Sports Arena alongside Presidential Boulevard Abeokuta.
The Governor urged the youth to always be good and responsible ambassadors of the state anywhere they find themselves.
Abiodun earlier in his speech at the event boasted that Ogun State has become a household name globally following various developmental growth which include infrastructure, economy, tourism, education and health among others
He reaffirmed his commitment to governing with fairness, justice and inclusiveness, assuring residents that development will continue to reach every part of the state, and tracing the state’s journey since its creation on February 3, 1976, emphasised that Ogun state has grown steadily into Nigeria’s industrial capital, driven by consistent investments and strategic planning.
The Governor explained that his administration has prioritised human capital development, education, housing, road infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture and sports, leading to what he described as unprecedented progress across sectors.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the good people of Ogun State. I assure you that every promise I made will be fulfilled, and I will continue to govern with fairness, equity and justice”, he added.
Abiodun explained that the administration’s development agenda has been evenly implemented across Ogun West, Ogun East and Ogun Central since 2019, restoring the state’s prominence at both national and international levels.
He equally highlighted the rising global profile of Adire fabric, describing it as a symbol of Ogun’s cultural revival and growing economic influence, just as he called on residents to sustain their support, while he pledged to build on the foundations laid by the state’s founding fathers to make Ogun state a model of progress in Nigeria.
The Chairman of Nigeria Youth Organisation(NYO) Comrade Saka Olanrewaju, reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to youth building and support for government policies and programmes aimed at sustainable development.
“We pledge to continue contributing our quota to the Dapo Abiodun-led administration, in view of his commitment towards the growth and development of the state’, Olanrewaju stated
He highlighted some of the organization’s feats and past contributions to youth and state development, including youth building initiatives, educational support programmes, environmental sanitation exercises in collaboration with Ogun State Government, security summit among others.
