Satisfied with the performance of the Governing Council for the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso, which he chaired in the first term, Visitor to LAUTECH and Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has reappointed the Pro-Chancellor of LAUTECH, Professor Ayodeji Oludare Omole for another term in office as Chairman of the Institution’s Governing Council.
Re-appointed along with Omole on the Council are Mr. Olukunle Idowu Adeosun and Mrs. Titilayomi Ahmadu.
Freshly appointed to serve on the University’s Council are an alumnus of the University and former Secretary of the Ogbomoso South Local Government Area, Mr. Jelili Bamidele Busari and Mr. Teslim Adediran.
Omole, a Professor of Forest/Timber Engineering in the Department of Forest Products at the University of Ibadan, represented Oyo State during resource verification towards the determination of joint ownership of LAUTECH imbroglio between Oyo and Osun States.
He was later announced as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council for the first five years after Oyo won the sole ownership of the Institution in November 2020.
Omole’s second tenure at LAUTECH commences from April 1, 2025.
Staff and students of the University have rated his first tenure as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council as the most progressive in the 35 years history of the Institution.
