The St. Charles Grammar School Old Boys Association, 84 Set, celebrated their classmate, a national hero and a worthy member of SCOBA, late Lt.Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja as he posthumously clocks 57.
At a grand event which took place Friday at the Rótìmí Obeisun SCOBA Alumni Hall in the School premises, the 84 Set of SCOBA donated 11,000 copies of exercise books, sketch books and graph books to the school management for the use of the students.
The kind gesture was sponsored by REAL CARE HUMANITY FOUNDATION founded by Charlean Alhaji Jinadu Gasali Adeyemi, a member of SCOBA 84 Set.
The Head Principal, Charlean Toyin Ajayi, who doubles as a member of 84 Set, welcomed SCOBA to the School, appreciated SCOBA CEC for their support and promised to ensure that the legacies of Late Lt. Gen. Lagbaja ìn the School are well preserved and sustained.
Speaking in his capacity as the Global First Vice President of SCOBA, Charlean Adesina Salami who also represented the Global President Charlean Peter Tade Adekunle at the event, appreciated the 84 Set of SCOBA for honouring the memory of Lt Gen Lagbaja with the donation of books to the students. He charged the School management to keep the memory of General Lagbaja alive by ensuring that the Sports Complex and the Digital/Electronic Library facilitated by him are put into good use and properly managed. He also enjoined the students to use the books for the purpose they are meant for.
Other speakers at the event include the School Board of Governors Chairman, Charlean Alhaji Lateef Onaolapo, Former Home Branch Chairman, Charlean Femi Olawale (Olajoh) and the Home Branch Chairman, Charlean Niyi Osunlusi. They all, tapping from their rich life experiences, spoke to the students on diverse issues which includes discipline, life goals, the import of teachers in a student’s life and determination to succeed and become somebody just like Late Lt. Gen. Lagbaja.
The SCOBA Vice President with the support of other dignitaries presented the books to the School management led by Charlean Toyin Ajayi. The books were then presented to the prefects of the school who received the books on behalf of their fellow students.
Mrs Kadri, the second principal of the School thanked Charlean Alhaji Jinadu Gasali Adeyemi, SCOBA 84 Set and SCOBA Worldwide for the generous donation while Charlean Tunde Owojori appreciated SCOBA CEC and Global SCOBA for their support. He also expressed gratitude to the Principals teachers and the management of St Charles Grammar School, Osogbo for keeping the flag of excellence associated with the school, flying.
Other Charleans present include, SCOBA Global General Secretary, Charlean Leye Odetoyinbo, Charlean Dr. Victor Tanimola of 74 Set, 84 Set members; Charlean Kehinde Aderibigbe, Charlean Taye Johnson, Charlean Waheed Olaniyi, Charlean Rasheed Adepọju, Charlean Taiwo Alemika and other notable Charleans.
