The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, today at the Command’s Headquarters at Ikeja, paraded four suspects arrested for various offence.
The suspects paraded include Olamilekan Olowookere, m, aged, 29years, from Osun State, involved in the deliberate vandalization of a DAF truck, which he was originally employed to drive. Olowookere was arrested around the Guiness axis of Ikeja, on 27th January, 2025 at about 0900hrs, alongside two others; Abba Idris ( a scrap dealer ), m, aged, 28years, Kano State and Ejitunde Wasiu ( vulcanizer ), m, aged, 48years, Osun State, by the patrol team of the Command, for vandalizing and dismembering the truck to be sold in parts as scraps to his potential buyers.
The Lagos State Commandant also paraded, one Ahmed Hamisu, m, aged, 28years, Adamawa State, who has mastered the act of operating fake payment receipts for online purchases, in a bid to scam and inflict hardship upon unsuspecting victims.
Upon receiving complaints from two direct victims of the online payment scams, the Command immediately deployed operatives who later got Ahmed Hamisu apprehended, on Sunday, 24th January, 2025, at about 1600hrs, at Orege road, Ajegunle, Ajeromi – Ifelodun.

One Yinusa Mohammed and some other members of the group are presently, at large but they are still being trailed by the command, Mr Keshinro said.
The Lagos State Commandant said investigation showed that the arrested online scammers often used fake alerts to defraud business owners, intimidate, impersonate with army camouflage uniforms and berets, use of multiple phone numbers, to communicate with their victims.
He listed some of the phone numbers in use by the suspects as the followings; 07061467078, 09027162617, 08142648467,08024686757,07087007106,07042963628.
The Commandant also used the opportunity to alert the public to the nefarious activities of online scammers, who have the evil intentions of inflicting pains and hardships, on the lives of unsuspecting victims. He cautioned citizens to desist from transacting businesses with people they have no relationship with as it may have adverse effects on them eventually.
He also warned vandals to desist from their evil acts or continue to face the full wrath of the law as the command will do everything in its powers, to continue to prosecute them in accordance with the laws of the land.
