Motivated by the need to curb thr activities of scavengers, thieves and vandals, in the scrap and waste industry, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command recently met with leaders of the National Association of Scrap and Waste Dealers Association of Nigeria.
The Lagos State Commandant of NSCDC, Mr Adedotun Keshinro received Alhaji Ibrahim Soja, Acting National President and Comrade Adedotun Adewale, the Lagos State chairman and other members of the association, in his office at Alausa, Ikeja.
The Lagos State Commandant was represented, at the meeting, by Deputy Commandant of Corps Agbetiloye Kolawole, Head of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Department and was joined by some senior officers of the command.
Kolawole explained that the meeting was necessary to chat a new course that will put a halt to the menace of sabotaging activities of the unscrupulous elements in the society.
To this end, the Command and the Association agreed to work together, identify challenges, provide possible and professional operational solutions, apprehend offenders and clinically, bring the menace to an end in the state.
The Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro also seized the opportunity to avow that unrepentant vandals of our Critical National Assets and Infrastructure will not be allowed to thrive in Lagos State.
This is because we will not rest on our oars and we shall continue to collaborate with other sister agencies and relevant stakeholders of government and grassroot communities, he said.
