Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has called on the Federal Government to find a means to adequately finance education to ensure its sustainability.
Speaking at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso, Oyo State, yesterday, Obasanjo said government at all levels must empower the youth to become providers of job.
The promoter of Bells University of Technology, Sango Otta, Ogun State, spoke at the 70th birthday celebration of the Vice Chancellor of the Bells University, Professor Jeremiah Oludele Ojediran, who delivered his valedictory lecture at LAUTECH.
Obasanjo eulogized LAUTECH for nurturing good academics and administrators, citing the examples of Professors Adeyemi and Ojediran, two LAUTECH professors who had been Vice Chancellors of Bells University at different times.
Obasanjo said he is the field of education for service rather than for profit, reiterating his commitment to sustain the growth of education in Nigeria.
