Scimago is a research group from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) that focuses on evaluating and ranking scientific research outputs.
They are best known for their Scimago Journal & Country Rank, which provides rankings and metrics for scientific journals, countries, and institutions based on citation data from Scopus.
In its latest report, it reported that Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, has become one of Nigeria’s leading Institutions for Engineering, earning its position as first in the country and 1962 globally.
It added that the University has consistently focused on blending theoretical knowledge and practical experiences, producing highly skilled engineers who excel in their respective fields.
The report went further to say the University is renowned for its state-of-the-art engineering laboratories, advanced research centres and well-equipped workshops enabling students to engage in hands-on training and research innovation that has set it apart as a leader in engineering education, research initiatives in areas such as renewable energy, information technology and infrastructural development has contributed significantly to its high ranking.
It recognizes industry partnerships which provide students with opportunities for internships, industrial attachments and collaborative projects with top engineering firms as one of the core strengths of LAUTECH.
