Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has addressed the recent controversy surrounding his performance at the 2025 Lagos Countdown concert where he was seen kicking a fan who tried to touch him on stage.
In an Instagram story, Burna Boy revealed that he has been struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), which causes him to react impulsively to sudden movements or interactions while performing.
The singer warned fans to respect his boundaries.
He said: “It was a free show. I was supposed to do 10 minutes and did almost one hour. Everybody knows my rule about getting on stage and startling me when I’m performing.
“I had an amazing time with Lagos State last night. Don’t jump on my stage like that! I got PTSD. I love you all. Happy New Year.”
