The Yoruba Council Worldwide, the apex umbrella body for all Yoruba indigenous people globally, has congratulated Nze Fidelis Oziochukwu Chukwu on his election as the new President General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.
In a statement by the Publicity Secretary, Bashorun Isaac Aderemi Ajibola on behalf of the President of the Yoruba Council Worldwide and Chairman of the North and South Ethnic Nationalities Council, Aare Oladotun Hassan, the Yoruba Council said Chukwu’s election is a testament to his accomplishments and positive contributions to the entire Southeast region, and Nigeria at large, “while his superlative wealth of experience is pivotal to amicably lead the Ohanaeze Ndigbo to the expected promise land, as we collectively build bridges of progress, unity and development of Nigeria.”
Oladotun said the new President-General is undeniably deserving of this new and prestigious role as leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide. He expressed confidence that he would bring his wealth of experience and expertise to bear on the activities of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, particularly in the task of speaking truth to power, being the voice for the voiceless, and serving as a beacon of hope for all Nigerians.
“We implore the new Executives to prioritize unity and progressive development of the Ndigbo people, by ensuring to call for genuine reconciliation among all critical stakeholders in the South East region, in order to achieve a robust synergy targeted at building common grounds for a solid foundation for positive socio-economic integration and growth of the region, ” the statement said.
