Kano State governor Abba Yusuf has sacked the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Abdullahi Baffa Bichi.
He also scrapped the office of the Chief of Staff, which until now was occupied by Alh. Shehu Wada Sagagi.
The governor said the former SSG was “dropped on heath ground.”
The governor also sacked of his five commissioners, including Ibrahim Jibril Fagge of Finance Ministry; Ladidi Ibrahim Garko of Culture and Tourism; Baba Halilu Dantiye of Information and Internal Affairs; Shehu Aliyu Yammedi of Special Duties and Abbas Sani Abbas of Rural and Community Development.
Yusuf, in a statement issued by his spokesman, Sanusi Bature, on Thursday, however, directed the Chief of Staff and the five commissioners dropped to “report to the office of the governor for possible reassignment.”
The governor stated that the reshuffle of the state executive council was to effect the pragmatic political realignment of his administration, saying the cabinet rejig takes immediate effect.
He said the decision will enable optimum performance that will drive more dividends of democracy to the people of Kano state.
