Agora Policy is inviting early to midcareer staff members of Nigerian civil society and media organisations, think tanks and the government to apply for its inaugural Policy Writing Fellowship.
The fellowship is designed to develop and deepen the capacity of the competitively-selected participants to conceive, research and write compelling and impactful policy papers.
It is part of a new project by Agora Policy, titled the Policy Support, Deepening and Engagement (PSDE) project aimed at strengthening data-driven and participatory approach to policymaking and governance in the country, supported by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
Non-residential, the three-month fellowship will offer writing workshops and hands-on supervision to the fellows and culminate in individual writing projects (which will attract research grants).
An ideal fellow will have at least a first degree in any discipline, must be comfortable with numbers and must show measurable passion for research, writing and public policy.
Interested candidates are invited to submit a 400-word statement of purpose, their resume/CV, two policy-related writing samples (published or unpublished), and a letter of endorsement from their employers or a reference letter for freelancers.
Applications should be submitted by 29th November 2024 to: fellowship@agorapolicy.org.
