Former minister of Finance and Director-General of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has dismissed a tweet by self-acclaimed Biafra leader, Simon Ekpa, claiming she facilitated a $57.5 billion loan from the World Bank and IMF to the “Biafra Republic Government in exile.”
Ekpa made the stunning claim in a tweet he posted on X Thursday.
But Okonjo-weala, in a swift response, described the tweet as “outrageous” and “false,” cautioning against using her name to spread misinformation.
Stating that that no sensible person would believe such claims, Okonjo-Iweala urged those responsible to cease misusing her name, reiterating her commitment to truth and integrity.
