Kachalla Ibrahim Gurgun Daji, a bandit leader infamous for his criminal activities, has been killed in Kwanar Nasiru, located east of Mada town in the Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
According to The Guardian, Gurgun Daji was slain by members of a rival faction on Sunday, with his body left at the scene.
Security expert Zagazola Makama pointed out that Ibrahim Gurgun Daji had become notorious for orchestrating violent attacks along the Kwatarkwashi-Mada road and in neighboring areas.
He stated, “His base of operations was in Shangel village, situated east of Mada town. He was also well-known for buying kidnapped victims within Gusau, which further solidified his power in the region’s criminal underworld.
“Alongside his involvement in attacks, he was known to harbor other criminal figures, including Bello Taggoje, at his home in Shangel village. Gurgun Daji was believed to command a large group of followers engaged in various acts of banditry and terror throughout the area.
“The demise of Kachalla Ibrahim Gurgun Daji represents a significant turning point in the battle against banditry in Zamfara State, as he was regarded as a key player in the region’s network of armed criminals.”
