For the umpteenth time, Oyo State owned Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso, has been named the best State University in the Country.
Missing being on the list of best ten Universities in Nigeria, the Institution came eleventh best ahead of many renowned Universities in the country in the recent ranking released by Times Higher Education (THE), which surveyed 1,907 Universities across 108 countries.
Close watchers of events in the education section said LAUTECH did well, by not losing its position.
The assessment is based on 18 performance indicators across five key areas: Teaching, Research, environment, research quality, industry and international outlook.
Commenting on the development, Vice-Chancellor of LAUTECH, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, said the Institution has a reason to still celebrate even when its target was to move higher than being the best State University.
According to him, “we are now more challenged than ever before to play in the prime to occupy our rightful position”.
