The authorities of First Baptist Church known as Cathedral Liberation located in Ayetoro town of Yewa North Local Government area of Ogun State have sacked a staff of the school, affiliated to the church for allegedly raping a pupil of the school.
The staff identified as Kola Osunjimi, who is a gardener in the church was said to have defiled the 6-year-old pupil of Baptist Church Nursery and Primary School owned by the Church shortly after closing hours at the school, while the parents were yet to come for her.
The action of the gardener who as at the time of filing this report was said to be in police net, was considered as criminal and ungodly by the church authorities and therefore took a punitive action by terminating his appointment with immediate effect.

‘I am directed by the church council to inform you that your appointment has been terminated in the church with immediate effect. This is as a result of your bad conduct which we heard, had to do with the virginity of an innocent underaged girl’, the letter reads.
The letter, however, explained that the September salary of the dismissed worker will be paid to him after being calculated on pro rata, adding that this will be made available when it is ready for payment.
‘You will agree that this singular act contravened the policy of the church and the Almighty God. You will, however, be sent for to collect your September, 2024 salary (which would be calculated on pro rata) when it is ready for payment’, the letter emphasized
The church council in the letter dated September 19, 2024, said it hoped that the sacked staff will turn a new leaf to enable God to forgive him, following what was described as a serious sin he had committed.
