The Isanlu Isin Community in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, has invited interested song composers and writers to assist in fabricating a delightful anthem for the society ahead of the December 30, 2024 Ajokogun fiesta.
Chairman of the Ajokogun Organizing Committee, Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo said the Isanlu Isin Development Association (IIDA), has mandated his Committee to throw the challenge open and make it competitive to get the best.
He explained that the Community is excited to call on talented composers, songwriters, and music directors to help create an anthem for Isanlu Isin people, that would be recited at every occasion.
He revealed that guidelines to be followed in executing the task include:
- Incorporating the Community cognomen(Oriki)(Cognomen) i.e “Isanlu-Iyeye, Omo Ajokogun.”
- Cultural Richness: The anthem must embody the rich cultural, historic, and traditional values of Isanlu Isin.
- Patriotic Spirit: The lyrics should inspire patriotism among all sons and daughters of Isanlu Isin, both present and future.
- Structure: The anthem should be easy to learn, not too lengthy, and should cover three key themes:
Eulogies: Celebrate and honor the community.
Strength: Highlight the resilience and strengths of Isanlu Isin. Prayers for the Future: Express hopes and prayers for future achievements and prosperity. Other parameters set for the composers to reference are:
- Deadline: All entries must be submitted by 31st August, 2024.
- Formats: Entries should be submitted in both hard and soft copies.
- Submission Address: Forward entries to the National Secretariat of IIDA via WhatsApp at +2348035494250.
Oyedepo explained that the IIDA, while taking into consideration that an artist such as will be involved in this task can never be adequately compensated, has established a reward system for composers of the top three most acceptable anthems.
“We appreciate the enthusiasm and prompt response of all interested and talented individuals,” he said. “Best wishes from the Oba-in-Council and the executive committee of the IIDA.”
