Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South and a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been reported dead.
SaharaReporter, which broke news of the death, said Ubah died in a hotel in London, United Kingdom, just two days after arriving in the city.
.In 2014, Ifeanyi Ubah lost at the 2014 Anambra gubernatorial election under the platform of the Labour Party.[10] On 24 February 2019, Ifeanyi Ubah was declared winner of the Anambra South Senatorial elections under the platform of the Young Progressive Party (YPP),but defected to Nigeria’s ruling party the All Progressive Congress (APC) last year with a rumoured ambition to contest the state governorship election on the platform of the party.
This tragic death comes on the heels of a recent major contribution to his party, as his campaign council recently donated a total of N71 million to the APC in Anambra State.
This generous donation, which included N50 million from Senator Ubah himself, was part of his commitment to supporting the party and enhancing its presence in the region.
The news of Senator Ubah’s passing has sent shockwaves through the political community, with his fellow senators already paying tribute to his memory in a group chat.
The Senate has yet to officially comment on this incident.
Last year, five persons, including two policemen and three civilians, were killed when gunmen attacked the convoy of the senator.
Ubah’s convoy was attacked by gunmen in Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state on Sunday while returning to his home town, Nnewi.

Ifeanyi became an exporter of motor tyres and spare parts majorly in West Africa including Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia and DR Congo before he expanded his business ventures in some countries in Europe including Belgium and the United Kingdom.
He is the founder of The Authority Newspaper, a Nigerian daily newspaper and also the owner of Ifeanyi Ubah F.C., a football club in the Nigeria Premier League, following its purchase as Gabros International Football Club.
