The Management and Editorial Board of Penpushing Media have received consent of four intellectuals to serve as panelists at the 6th annual lecture of the organization scheduled to hold on July 25, 2024 at new marque events centre, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta.
The panelists include Prof Isaac Olawale Albert of African History, Peace and Conflict Studies University of Ibadan (UI), Ibadan; Maureen Chigbo who is the President of Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP); Opeyemi Adamolekun, Executive Director of Enough is Enough (EIE) and Wale Adeoye, Executive Director of Journalists for Democratic Rights (JODER).
In their individual responses to invitation extended to them by the management of Penpushing Media, the four declared their acceptance and equally recognized the relevance of the organization in the media industry
The panelists will play a major role at the event which has the theme,’ National Balance: Infrastructure, Institutional Capacity And Diversity As Tools For Building Blocks And Good Governance’
The chairperson of the planning committee, Dr Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi had, while unveiling date for the anniversary lecture, explained that the event is designed to be educative and a contribution to social growth.
Akiyode-Afolabi added that the committee has started reaching out to members of the Penpushing platform as well as other stakeholders to rally round towards a successful outing, expressing optimism that all will be well.
The planning committee chairperson said other arrangements for the ceremony will be made known, where identities of personalities with their specific roles to be made public.
The chairperson recalled that previous anniversary lectures are a testimonial to the relevance of Penpushing Media not only in the journalism practice across the world but also its impact on society assuring that this year’s edition will be another feat by the organization..
‘Penpushing, which has become a famous global news dissemination platform, got its certificate of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on June 1, 2017, with its corporate headquarters located at Leme axis of Moshood Abiola Way, Abeokuta’, Akiyode-Afolabi added.
Other members of the standing committee include: Sina Adefolahan(Secretary), Toyin Ogunbomehin, Otunba Gbenga Onayiga, Yemisi Fadairo, Dr Adewunmi Alayaki and Remmy Hazzan.
