Two of the newly appointed caretaker committee chairmen for local councils in Rivers State, those of Obio-Akpo, Chijioke Ihunwo and Ogu-Bolu, Evans Bipi, have appointed 219 political aides for their different councils.
While Bipi in a statement announced the appointment of 119 aides and committee members, Ihunwo gave appointments to 100 people in Obio-Akpor.
Bipi said the aides would be sworn in on Friday at the Ogu Magistrate Court at 10 am.
He asked all the appointees, their relatives, and guests to be seated at the venue at the scheduled time.
He said all members of the Simplified Movement were invited to attend the ceremony.
The portfolios of the appointees were given as special advisers on ward matters, aides, media aides, special advisers, security, bursary committees, and road maintenance committees among other committees.
But Ihunwo, in his statement signed by his Special Assistant Media and Publicity, Amadi Eze, only listed the aides without their portfolios.
Ihunwo congratulated the appointees and charged them to work effectively and key into his developmental agenda and the vision of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
