Few days after he was publicly attacked by youth in his constituency, the lawmaker representing the Ifelodun/Boripe and Boluwaduro federal constituency in Osun State, Soji Adetunji, has provided his constituents with television sets, grinders, freezers, motorcycles and sewing machines.
Nurudeen Abolaji, the lawmaker’s media assistant, explained that the clash involved youths from the Ikirun, Iragbiji, and Agba communities.
A viral video showed Adetunji being attacked and subjected to unprintable chants by his constituents during a wedding at Ada last Saturday.
Despite the incident, Adetunji distributed the items to his constituents at Akirun High School, stating that his gesture aimed to support and improve their businesses.
He said: “This is about providing tools for self-sufficiency, creating opportunities for growth, and fostering an environment where everyone can thrive. With these resources, I believe we can ignite a wave of entrepreneurship and innovation that will ripple across our constituency.”
The viral video came with the tag: “JUST IN: Seems like the poor have started eating the rich in Osun state as people of Ada in Boripe LGA of Osun ambushed their HOR member and descended on him heavily for failing them”.
According to reports, the people of Ada felt insulted by the Sallah handouts he came to give them while riding in his expensive car.
Locals can be seen screaming and calling for the reps member to be beaten as they surrounded him.
One woman is seen cautioning the man filming against recording the incident.
However, the person behind the camera insisted on filming as he insulted the reps member and other politicians, calling them “mad people”.
