The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has elected Mr. Aliyu Bin Abbas as its Presidential candidate for the 2027 election, as the candidate pledged to transform Nigeria and address the mirage of challenges facing it.
Abbas, who described his emergence as “a miracle” said he “will bridge the gap between the young and the old generations” by putting “strategies that will transform the country”.
The ADP presidential candidate made the statement shortly after his emergence during the party’s National Convention and Presidential primary election, held Women International Centre in Abuja on Saturday, May 29 and 30, 2026.
Abbas is the founder and youth President of the National Youth Alliance (NYA), a pioneering youth-driven movement covering all the states and local government areas across Nigeria.
An indigene of Borno State, Abbas rose from a humble beginning as an almajiri child in Kano State. He pursued his education across continents, earning postgraduate degrees from Concordia College in the United States.
With over two decades of civic engagements, he has dedicated his career to bridging Nigeria’s regional divides, advancing youth inclusion in governance, and mobilising a new generation of patriotic Nigerian leaders under the vision of “Birthing a New Nigeria.”
The ADP National Chairman, Engr. Yabagi Sanni congratulated Abbas on his emergence as the party’s 2027 presidential bearer.
He said the “day is not merely another gathering of party members but it is a solemn democratic occasion, a moment of renewal, recommitment and rededication to the ideals of democracy ”.
According to him, the party is founded on “justice, fairness, internal democracy, accountability, national unity and people-centred leadership.
“Congratulates to all our delegates, officers, members and supporters of the ADP who have remained steadfast, disciplined and committed to the progress of this party. Your sacrifice, patience and loyalty have kept the party alive, united and focused”, he added.
