The International Coordinator of the Priesthood Leadership Development Initiative (PLDILEIC) Bishop Olúsesi Michael Ọbátẹ́yẹ has called on religious and political to practice selfless service as exemplified by the life of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Ọbátẹ́yẹ, in his Easter message, said the essence of Easter was the essence of our redemption from sin majorly is to escape death for eternal life and also to share the testimony of God’s kindness and immeasurable love of God for humanity.
The message, titled, He Is Risen, reads in full:
Dear leaders and stakeholders.
He was accused. He was arrested. He was tried in the court of man. He was condemned. He was crucified. He was mocked. He was pierced in the ribs with a sword. He bled. He died on the Cross of Calvary. He was buried [Matt. 27: 1-66].
That much, the earth could neither contain nor swallow Him because He triumphed over death. *Now, JESUS has risen from death [Matt. 28: 1-7]*
Yeshua, Jesus Christ, the master, the beloved son of God, the Messiah, came to redeem and reconcile the entire world back to God, our maker. This He did perfectly well which gives us the hope and assurance of eternal life.
Therefore, it will not be out of place for us to continue from where He left, having sent the Holy Spirit to us for enablement and strength, for He said, “we shall receive power after which the Holy Spirit has come upon us” [Acts 1:8]. And that, “greater works we shall do than what He did when he was with us” [John 14:12]
Let me remind all of us that the essence of our redemption from sin majorly is to escape death for eternal life and also to share the testimony of His kindness and immeasurable love of God for humanity, that many might be saved by faith through grace.
On this premise, i want to plead and encourage us not to grow weary, but to be strong and continue to spread the good news of redemption which Jesus made possible by surrendering His own life for our life. Because without the shedding of blood, there is no remission/forgiveness of sin [Hebrew 9:22].
Good to note that our failure to witness the tremendous work of redemption and salvation Jesus brought to the world will amount to crucifying Him the second time [Hebrew 6: 6].
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord [1Cor. 15:58].
HAPPY EASTER
