We have taken note of reports that Peter Obi is contemplating withdrawing his fraternity with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
If true, this development once again underscores the political indecisiveness and capricious maneuvers that have come to define Obi’s public conduct.
This development underscores the renowned fact that the so-called alliance is unsustainable. It is a coalition of strange bedfellows whose only infatuation is the desperate grab for power, not borne out of any principle or national interest. Our prediction of the coalition’s collapse has come too soon, and it simply confirms what discerning Nigerians already know – that the arrangement was bound to fail.
Peter Obi has once again proven himself a political coward who cannot compete on the strength of ideas, character, or record, but instead keeps scavenging for where power may be served without breaking a sweat.
Someone needs to tell Peter Obi that power is never served à la carte.
The rolling stone continues to gather no moss, and Nigerians are increasingly seeing through his opportunistic posturing.
Cracks in the Coalition
We are also keenly observing the situation in Kaduna ADC and other states where the center can no longer hold for the pack of cards called an “alliance.” These cracks are visible evidence that the partnership has no real ideological foundation and is nothing more than a temporary marriage of convenience.
A politician who cannot sustain a committed partnership with a political grouping hardly inspires confidence in his ability to govern. If Obi characteristically struggles to maintain consistency with ADC, what guarantee exists that he can build the kind of consensus required to lead a diverse country like Nigeria?
Lagos APC’s Stance
For us in Lagos APC, this is further confirmation that the opposition remains a house divided against itself, with no clear ideology, direction, or programme for Nigerians. As they continue to play musical chairs with alliances, the APC remains focused on delivering governance, development, and stability.
We urge Nigerians to see through these theatrics. What our nation needs is not a confused opposition driven by self-interest, but credible leadership rooted in vision, consistency, and genuine commitment to the people.
