The gate of the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex was locked on Wednesday as Governor Siminalayi Fubara arrived at the quarters, barring him from gaining entrance into the complex.
The security personnel locked the gates when the governor’s convoy arrived at the complex, though it is unclear who gave them directive to do so.
The action of the security personnel was hinged on the claim that there was no official communication between the governor and the Assembly.
However, Fubara said he sent an executive communication to Speaker Martins Amaewhule, claiming that he had been trying to call him on the phone since Tuesday.
