<p>President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mourned the passing of Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, describing his death as a monumental national loss.</p>



<p>The President in a condolence message issued by his Spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, eulogised the elder statesman for his public-spirited philanthropy, which touched lives, especially in education and healthcare delivery.</p>



<p>President Tinubu recalled his relationship with the late mogul, describing his wise counsel and support as deeply encouraging and beneficial.</p>



<p>He lauded Dantata’s sterling contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth and development.</p>



<p>“With the death of Alhaji Dantata today, we lost a prominent business mogul, patriot, and elder statesman who contributed significantly to the growth and development of our nation.</p>



<p>“Alhaji Dantata will be remembered for his industry, diligence, steadfastness, and great commitment to national unity through his many business ventures and philanthropic activities that touched countless lives of Nigerians,” the President declared</p>



<p>In addition to his long-standing and reputed business acumen, the late Dantata served as Commissioner for Planning and Development in the old Kano State, among other public sector roles.</p>



<p>President Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences to the Dantata family, the Government, and the people of Kano State on the death of Nigeria’s illustrious son.</p>



<p>Dantata, who passed away at 94 in the early hours of Saturday, was a renowned and accomplished businessman.</p>



<p>The Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, also expressed deep sorrow over the death of elder statesman, renowned industrialist, and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who passed away at the age of 94 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates UAE.</p>



<p>In a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, Governor Yusuf described the late Dantata as a towering figure whose life was defined by entrepreneurial excellence, visionary leadership, and an unwavering commitment to humanity.</p>



<p>“Alhaji Aminu Dantata was a foundational pillar in the economic development of Kano and Nigeria at large. His visionary leadership and business acumen created a vast commercial empire that provided thousands of jobs and contributed immensely to national growth,” the Governor said.</p>



<p>Beyond his business success, the statement highlighted Dantata’s enduring legacy in philanthropy.</p>



<p>“He invested generously in education, healthcare, poverty alleviation, and community development. His selfless commitment to improving lives will continue to inspire generations.”</p>



<p>Yusuf lamented the great loss to the state and nation, describing the late Dantata as “a mentor, father figure, and elder statesman whose wisdom and guidance will be profoundly missed.”</p>



<p>Aminu Alhassan Dantata, born on 19th May 1931, was a Nigerian businessman and philanthropist who was one of the promoters of Kano State Foundation, an endowment fund that supported educational initiatives and provided grants to small-scale entrepreneurs in Kano.</p>
