Oyo State governor and candidate of the PDP in Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has defeated both the candidate of the Accord Party in the Oyo governorship election, Chief Adebayo Adelabu and the candidate of the APC, Chief Teslim Folarin in their respective polling units.
At the election held at Unit 10, ward 9, Ibadan South East, Accord polled 38 valid votes, while the PDP had 60 valid votes. Folarin polled 22 votes to emerge third in the polling unit. African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled a single vote while there were 18 invalid votes.
A total of 138 voters were accredited out of the unit that had 472 voters.
Also at Folarin’s polling unit, Makinde got 83 votes while his APC opponent got 45.
Makinde had comfortably won his own polling unit. He voted in Unit 1, Ward 11 at Ibadan North East Local Government.
Makinde, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, received 174 votes to defeat others.
His nearest rival, Teslim Folarin of the APC, received 28 votes at the unit, while Accord Party candidate Bayo Adelabu received five votes to finish third.
